Deploying SecOps On-Premise

This guide walks you through the deployment of SecOps on an on-premise server, from preparing the server to completing the initial setup and accessing the SecOps console.
Before you begin, ensure that the server meets the required prerequisites and that the SecOps Readiness Check has been completed successfully.
Step 1: Download the Installation Package
Log in to the server using the ubuntu user and download the SecOps on-premise installation package:
The package will be downloaded to the current directory.
Step 2: Install the SecOps Package
From the directory containing the downloaded package, run:
The installation process registers the required SecOps services and starts the setup process automatically.
Note: The installation may take a few moments to initialize.
Step 3: Open the Setup Console
Once the package installation is complete, open a browser from the server itself or from another machine that can reach the server.
Access the setup console using:
Replace <server-ip> with the IP address of the server.
The SecOps setup console will open and guide you through the remaining configuration steps.
Step 4: Configure the Network
The setup console will prompt you to configure the Central Server's network settings.
For production deployments, Static IP is recommended to ensure consistent platform access, agent communication, and integration reliability. Static IP is required for agent-based deployments because agents are configured with the Central Server address and are expected to communicate with the same server endpoint.

Important: Avoid changing the Central Server IP address after agents or integrations have been configured. If the IP address changes, agents configured with the previous IP may stop communicating and require reconfiguration. In agentless deployments, any configured Jump Host may also need to be updated. If DHCP is used, consider configuring a DHCP reservation so that the Central Server consistently receives the same IP address.
Step 5: Register the Installation
Complete the registration form with the required installation details.
Select Register to continue.

Note: If this installation is part of a server migration, use the same email address associated with the previous SecOps installation.
Step 6: Enter the License Key
After registration, the setup console will prompt you to enter the SecOps license key.
For a New Installation
If this is a new SecOps deployment, contact the SecOps Solution Support team at [email protected] to obtain the license key, then enter it in the setup console.
For a Server Migration
If you are migrating an existing SecOps installation to this server, enter the same license key provided by the Server Migration utility. Refer, Central Server Migration Guide

Select Validate to continue.
Step 7: Complete the Installation
After the license key is successfully validated, the remaining installation steps are completed automatically.
The setup console displays the installation progress while the required SecOps components are configured.

Important: Do not restart the server or close the setup console while the installation is in progress.
Wait until the setup console confirms that the installation has been completed successfully.

Step 8: Access Application
After the installation is complete, access the SecOps console using:
Replace <server-ip> with the IP address of your SecOps server.

Sign in using the email address you entered during registration and the default password admin.
Note: SecOps is served over HTTPS using an internally issued self-signed certificate. Your browser may display a certificate warning when accessing the console for the first time. This is expected for the default installation.
Step 9: Allow Initial Database Synchronization
After the first login, SecOps begins downloading and synchronizing the required vulnerability and patch databases.
The initial synchronization may take some time depending on the available network connectivity.

Important: Vulnerability and patch-related information may be incomplete until the initial synchronization has finished. Allow databases to complete synchronization before using the platform for scanning or patch management.
You can verify the Vulnerability Database synchronization status from Settings → Vulnerability Database. The database status and the Last Updated timestamp indicate whether the latest vulnerability data has been successfully synchronized.
Once the initial synchronization is complete, the SecOps on-premise deployment is ready for use.
