Overview

SMTP configuration enables SecOps Solution to send email notifications, alerts, reports, and other system-generated communications.
After configuring SMTP, it is recommended to send a test email to verify connectivity and authentication before relying on email notifications.

Configure SMTP Settings

Step 1: Log in to the Platform

Open the SecOps web console:
Log in using an administrator account.

Step 2: Open Settings

Click the Profile icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings.

Step 3: Navigate to SMTP Settings

From the left navigation menu:

  • Enter a valid Test Email Address.
  • Click Send Test.
  • Verify that the email is successfully delivered

A successful test confirms:

  • Authentication settings
  • TLS/SSL configuration
  • Email delivery functionality

Troubleshooting

Test Email Fails

Verify:

  • SMTP server hostname is correct.
  • SMTP port is accessible from the SecOps Central Server.
  • Username and password are valid.
  • Firewall rules allow outbound SMTP communication.
  • TLS settings match the mail server requirements.

 Authentication Error

Verify:

  • Credentials are correct.
  • SMTP authentication is enabled on the mail server.
  • Application-specific passwords are configured if required by the email provider.

Emails Are Not Received

Verify:

  • The sender email address is permitted by the mail server.
  • Messages are not being filtered as spam.
  • Recipient email addresses are valid.

Note: It is recommended to send a test email immediately after configuration changes to ensure SMTP settings are functioning correctly.
